Senior Clinical Contractor Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our network of independent healthcare contractors in senior clinical roles. This opportunity offers advanced clinical autonomy, leadership responsibilities, competitive compensation, and the ability to make a significant impact in complex home healthcare while maintaining professional independence.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Clinical Care:

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments and develop complex individualized care plans
  • Provide advanced clinical care including IV therapy, central line management, and specialized treatments
  • Administer medications, manage pain control protocols, and monitor complex medication regimens
  • Perform advanced wound care, ostomy management, and post-surgical care
  • Provide specialized care for clients with complex medical conditions (cardiac, respiratory, neurological, oncology)

Clinical Leadership & Supervision:

  • Coordinate and manage interdisciplinary care teams and lead care conferences
  • Provide clinical supervision and oversight for RPNs and Personal Support Workers
  • Conduct clinical education and mentoring of junior nursing staff
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives and clinical best practice implementation
  • Participate in clinical program development and policy creation

Complex Care Management:

  • Manage clients requiring high-acuity, complex medical interventions
  • Conduct comprehensive discharge planning and care transitions
  • Coordinate with specialists, hospitals, and multi-facility care teams
  • Provide palliative and end-of-life care with advanced symptom management
  • Manage ventilator-dependent clients and complex technology-assisted care

Family & Client Education:

  • Conduct comprehensive family education sessions on complex care management
  • Develop and implement client/family education programs
  • Provide consultation on complex health conditions and care decisions
  • Support informed consent processes and care planning discussions

Emergency & Critical Response:

  • Respond to emergency situations with advanced clinical interventions
  • Provide crisis intervention and critical decision-making
  • Coordinate with emergency services and hospital admissions
  • Manage acute changes in complex medical conditions

Professional Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain detailed clinical documentation and quality assurance records
  • Ensure compliance with CNO standards and regulatory requirements
  • Complete comprehensive care assessments and outcome measurements
  • Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications & Requirements

Professional Licensing:

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent preferred
  • Community health/home care experience preferred
  • Minimum 2 years recent acute care or community nursing experience

Advanced Certifications:

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (Healthcare Provider level)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification preferred
  • IV Therapy certification required
  • Valid WHMIS 2015 Certificate of Completion
  • Specialized certifications preferred (wound care, palliative care, diabetes education, etc.)

Professional Insurance & Background:

  • Current professional liability/malpractice insurance with minimum $5,000,000 coverage
  • Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (current within 12 months)
  • Professional references from clinical supervisors or physician colleagues
  • Negative TB Test (completed within 12 months)
  • Current immunizations as required by public health authorities

Clinical Competencies:

  • Advanced assessment and clinical decision-making skills
  • Complex care coordination and case management experience
  • Leadership and supervision capabilities
  • Emergency response and critical thinking abilities
  • Quality improvement and clinical audit experience

Business & Transportation:

  • Valid Ontario Driver's License and reliable vehicle with current insurance REQUIRED
  • HST registration (if applicable)
  • Business license (if required by municipality)
  • Professional liability insurance and business coverage

Premium Compensation:

  • Hourly rate: $40.00-$45.00 based on experience and specialized qualifications
