Cancer Care

Support through treatment and beyond

Cancer treatment is exhausting. Chemo, radiation, and surgery take a toll on the body and mind. Having someone at home who can help with daily care, meals, medication, and companionship — and who can drive to appointments when energy is low — lets your loved one focus on healing. We work with dignity, comfort, and flexibility, and we coordinate with your oncology team.

Why families choose Haven at Home

Our approach is built on dignity, comfort, and flexibility — we adapt to how your loved one feels each day.

We communicate with your oncology team so everyone is aligned on care and any changes in condition.

When treatment ends, we can support survivorship at home or, when the time comes, work with you on a gentle transition to palliative care. You don't have to do this alone.

Signs you might need this

If any of these sound familiar, we can help.

Is your loved one undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment?
Do they need help with daily care when fatigue or nausea is severe?
Are they recovering from cancer-related surgery?
Do they need transportation to treatments or appointments?
Is your family providing most of the care and in need of respite?
Would you like support that can transition to palliative care if needed?

Common questions

Can you provide care during hospitalization, or only at home?+

Our primary focus is home care. However, for hospital stays, we can provide companion sitters — someone to be with your loved one during hospitalization when family can't be there.

What if my loved one's prognosis changes during treatment?+

We adjust with you. If curative treatment stops and the focus shifts to comfort care, we transition into palliative support. The same team can continue — maintaining relationships while changing the care focus.

Can you help with medication during chemo?+

Yes. We can provide medication reminders and, when needed, our nursing team can administer medications. We coordinate with the oncology team on any new prescriptions or changes.

Do you work with our oncologist?+

With your permission, we communicate with your oncology team — reporting how they're doing at home, any symptoms or concerns, and ensuring our support aligns with the treatment plan.

What about nutrition during treatment?+

We can prepare meals that work with dietary recommendations and appetite changes. When nausea is severe, we focus on what they can tolerate and keep them hydrated. We can also coordinate with a dietitian if needed.

  • We'll ask about your loved one's needs and daily routine
  • We'll explain your care options and what they involve
  • We'll answer every question — no sales pitch
