Stroke Recovery

Recovery doesn't end at discharge

Stroke recovery is a marathon, not a sprint. The hospital stabilizes; home is where rehabilitation happens. We provide the daily support, physiotherapy, and nursing care that helps your loved one regain what the stroke took.

Why families choose Haven at Home

Home-based rehab means practice happens where it matters — in their own environment.

We combine physio, PSW, and nursing so the whole recovery is coordinated.

Consistent caregivers build trust and track progress over time.

Signs you might need this

If any of these sound familiar, we can help.

Has your loved one recently experienced a stroke?
Are they having difficulty with movement, balance, or coordination?
Do they need help with daily tasks they used to do independently?
Are they experiencing speech or communication challenges?
Have they been discharged from hospital or inpatient rehab?
Do they need ongoing rehabilitation but struggle to get to a clinic?

Common questions

How long will they need support?+

It varies enormously. Some stroke survivors regain near-full function in weeks. Others need long-term help. We adjust as recovery progresses — and we're honest about realistic expectations.

What about speech therapy?+

We coordinate with speech-language pathologists but don't provide speech therapy directly. Our caregivers are trained in communication strategies to support language recovery at home.

Is it too late to start? It's been a few months since the stroke.+

Recovery continues for years after stroke. It's never too late to improve. Starting support now can still make a significant difference.

What if they're depressed?+

Depression is extremely common after stroke. Our team is trained to recognize signs and support mental health — and we'll coordinate with doctors if medication or counseling is needed.

Can you help with aphasia (difficulty speaking)?+

Yes. Our caregivers learn communication strategies for aphasia — patience, visual cues, yes/no questions, gesture. We can't replace speech therapy, but we can support communication all day, not just during therapy sessions.

Recovery doesn't wait

Every week matters after a stroke. The sooner support starts, the better the outcome. Let's talk about what your family needs.

  • We'll ask about your loved one's needs and daily routine
  • We'll explain your care options and what they involve
  • We'll answer every question — no sales pitch
